Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

-Dylan Thomas

I love this poem. You may recognize it from the movie ‘Interstellar’, one of my absolute faves. There is indeed a continuing theme in all of these messages, movies, songs. Love and choice.

What does it mean to walk the path of the peaceful warrior?

In every moment, we are given a choice. A powerful and potent point for transformation. To align with the will of the most high and infinite blessing to speak, act and live rightly. How can we make sure we are making the right choices? There are billions of them! They’re coming full speed! One way is by fixing our gaze to gratitude. For all we have been bestowed, through thick and thin, that we find this undying faith as the only other option is not to believe in ourselves at all. Maybe our faith is the only true choice we have.

Here are a couple of bits of reading that I find to work extremely well together and go along with the theme of this class. (we listened to this mantra in the end!)

I hope in them or in this practice you find something bright. What does it feel like when something resonates as Truth? It is not a thought, it is beyond logic. It is a feeling. It is an embodied experience. It is a knowing. Tune into what Truth feels like for YOU.

Fear and happiness live by the same law.

All my love.
